Pillars of Summer

Pillars of the Summer Garden

This week, I am continuing with my purple shades of summer in the garden inspired by my grandmother’s garden on the farm. By this time of the year, my lamb’s ear is towering over the driveway along the brick wall up the hill to our home. Its beauty goes beyond its height. Covered in tiny pink and purple blooms, they sway in the summer breeze. Teasing the bees that hum from flower to flower. They are soft as a lamb’s ear to the touch, and I occasionally remove a leaf to tickle Annabelle’s cheek.

In case you missed it, see my purple Summer Salvia and Whispering Lilacs. Or the pinks of Spring with Raspberry Magnolias, May in Bloom, Spring Unfolding, and Blushing Magnolia.

Aren’t they, you don’t notice how delicate lambs ear blooms are until you see them up close!
