On the water in Monterey Bay, California

You can’t visit the California coast without an ocean tour! Especially in Monterey Bay, the marine animals are incredible! We saw thousands of sea lions, birds, and fish. In addition to leopard seals, dolphins, and several types of whales.  It has been has been called the greatest meeting of land, sea and sky. The bay is recognized as an ideal ocean vacation, given that the natural beauty of the area draws you in. This post contains some affiliate links for your convenience. Monterey Bay’s rich history includes the saga of California’s Mission Trail, historic Fisherman’s Wharf and Cannery Row. We took it all in! The Fisherman’s Wharf, walks along the beaches, and abundant sea life were are favorites of the area. For a place to stay we recommend the Monterey Bay Suites and the Monterey Bay Lodge. The town is bit too touristy for us, so we didn’t stay long before moving up the coast to Half Moon Bay.

Monterey (and nearby Pacific Grove) is my favorite day trip destination. It is just gorgeous there. The place just makes you happy.

We were on Cannary row and the Aquarium a couple of weeksback. Love it there. It’s a great place for whale watching too. 🙂
    Lovely photographs, Kristy. 🙂

Divya, yes it. If only I had better sea legs I would go again. But we saw loads of sea life on the whale tour we took.

What a beautiful place! My husband has seen Half Moon Bay a few times, traveling on business, but I have yet to make it to California. Some day!

I love staying somewhere on the coast when we travel, whatever the weather is, but I prefer a quieter place too. Enjoy the summer. And thank you for the link up. It’s winter here!

Would love to see something like that, I get a bit sick looking at algae on the lakes. I remember seeing some seals driving through OR and remember the sound and smell the most.
