Unlock the benefits of grapefruit essential oil in an exfoliating grapefruit poppyseed scrub, perfect for summer skin!
Grapefruit essential oil is cold-pressed from the peels of fresh grapefruit. It is a citrusy oil with a bright aroma. Its aroma is often used in aromatherapy to encourage feelings of playfulness, joy, and satisfaction. Learn more about aromatherapy in my 10th book, Aromatherapy – A Practical Guide for Home and Family.
Besides aromatherapy, grapefruit essential oil is a great addition to skin care applications. I have used it in bath salts, body lotion, and milk baths too. It is a natural skin-toning essential oil like Lemon and Juniper. This exfoliating grapefruit poppyseed scrub will make your skin smoother-looking.

Hi,
Can you use this as a face scrub? Would I need to substitute the salt with more poppy seeds? Thanks, Nellie
Nellie, I would leave out the salt and not add any more poppy seeds. You don’t want it to be too abrasive for the delicate skin on our face. I also would only use it if you have dry skin because coconut oil can leave other types of skin feeling greasy.
