I adore candles of all kinds, and candle making has become my favorite DIY craft over the years. Anyone who follows my Instagram feed won’t be surprised to hear that I’ve realized I’ve become a bit of a candle connoisseur.
What is it about candles that I love the most? Candles are equivalent to perfume as the last touch to make a personalized, complete, and welcoming space.
But, it’s not just the scent that intrigues me. The size, shape, style, and ambiance only a candle can create captivates me. Votives, tea lights, wax melts, tapers, you name it – we have some type of candle in every room of our home.
I love to give candles as gifts, and I’ve been sharing tutorials and tips to make candles for the last five years. These pressed flower mason jar candles were the first I shared here, followed by 60 more candle making articles. Can you believe that?
If you have made candles before, you know that candle making isn’t all that easy. Many of my DIY-inclined friends refer to me as the Candle Making Guru for my insight on making candles and fixing just about any candle problem. And that’s how this book came about.

Writing Creative Candles Made Simple
With encouragement from friends, family, and readers like you, I began writing Creative Candles Made Simple just shy of two years ago. In the process, I tested and hand-poured every candle in this book and sought to include everything you need to know to craft candles of your own. I walk you through setting up your workspace, choosing the right candle equipment for accurate results, and so much more.
I had a fantastic experience writing this book, exploring a wide variety of candle types, because you can do more with candles than just changing the fragrance and container. So in Creative Candles Made Simple, you’ll learn to make cheese mold candles, votives, bowl candles, crackling wood wick candles, tea lights, floating candles, dried flower candles, and coffee mug candles, amongst many others, to delight the senses!
Altogether it’s 100+ pages of learning the art of candle making, refining and evolving your skills with each finished candle project, including essential guides and tips along the way.
