Mess-Free Natural DIY Laundry Scent Booster

Make a DIY laundry scent booster without Epsom salt to freshen clothes naturally with four natural laundry scent booster recipes. A no-mess remedy that makes laundry smell really good!

Thereโ€™s no denying we spend a lot of time washing dishes and laundry. But, thereโ€™s no reason why these routines canโ€™t be beautiful.

Almost nothing inspires me more than beautifying a simple routine.

From building a nourishing 4-step nightly skincare routine to creating seasonal cleaning checklistsIโ€™m hooked on SIMPLICITY!

I began simplifying our laundry routine years ago when I ditched dryer sheets and started using wool dryer balls instead. Itโ€™s no secret commercial ones contain harmful chemicals and contribute to a lot of single-use waste.

Youโ€™ve likely seen the research that dryer sheets emit (VOCs) into the air and commercial scent boosters come with a rating of F (yes thatโ€™s the worst grade) from the EWG. They expose us to known carcinogens, endocrine disruptors, and irritants including SLS, formaldehyde, polymers, and more.

BOTTOM LINE: These options are not only toxic, but they are messy and create unnecessary waste.

Having said that, I still want our clothes, towels, and sheets to come out of the dryer smelling fresh and clean. And Iโ€™m certain you do, too!

Thatโ€™s why I created this natural laundry scent booster. Itโ€™s a mess-free remedy that makes laundry smell really good!

So you can give your laundry a boost of scent and keep things smelling fresh without chemicals.

How do I get my laundry to smell good naturally?

Itโ€™s easy to add scent to laundry naturally with these two alternatives!

First, say goodbye to dryer sheets and swap them for a set of sustainable wool dryer balls. Youโ€™ll cut out the waste, naturally soften fabrics, reduce static cling, and shorten drying time with this quick fix.

Easy To Use:

  • Add one to two drops of the DIY laundry scent booster to each dryer ball.
  • Toss them into the dryer and close the door while you wash your clothes as usual.
  • Then pop your washed clothes into the dryer with the scent-boosted dryer balls and tumble dry. – See my tips to adjust the number of dryer balls needed per laundry load size.
  • After use toss the wool dryer balls in a cotton laundry basket to absorb more of the scent and further add fragrance to your laundry.
  • Reapply the scent booster as needed. When your laundry routine is finished store them inside a tall jar next to your DIY laundry detergent or in a laundry storage tin. This set comes with a cute โ€œDryer Ballsโ€ label!
