How to Make an Anti Frizz Serum at Home

How to make an anti frizz serum at home for humidity that won’t weigh your hair down. It’s the best anti frizz serum for smooth, shiny hair!

To say I’ve had my fair share of hair issues would be an understatement. I’ve tackled serious tangles, a clogged scalp, and greasy hair to boot. But, if there’s one thing that comes back to haunt me it’s frizzy hair!!

I’m talking about unsightly, unruly frizz that only a braid or hat will disguise.

And I’ve checked off every box to stop it, investing in better hot tools, drinking more water, taking biotin supplements, stretching the time between washing my hair with my DIY dry shampoo spray and switching to solid shampoo

Even after all of that, it turns out I’m only human. I rush to get ready at times and skip conditioner and hair rinses. I like to have highlighted hair and I like the way my hair looks when it’s blow-dried and straightened, even though I know it can cause frizzy hair…

But, a girl just wants to wake up with beautiful frizz-free hair regardless. Is that so bad?

If you feel the same, you’re in luck, because I learned how to make an anti frizz serum at home so we can wake up without the frizz!

What is a hair serum and what does anti-frizz serum do?

What is a hair serum and what does anti-frizz serum do?

A hair serum stays on the outer layer of hair, called the cuticle. It softens and smoothes the cuticle while enhancing shine. Hair serums also protect against environmental influencers such as heat and humidity.

And it doesn’t need to be rinsed, heated, or styled to work. Many, myself included, find anti-frizz hair serums are the gateway to healthy, beautiful locks.

Let me break it down for ya, a good anti frizz hair serum will:

  • Go beyond conditioner
  • Control frizz
  • Boost shine
  • Reduce hair breakage
  • Smooth and soften cuticles
  • Improve the health of your hair

The benefits of using a hair serum really add up!

You’ll be so glad you learned how to make an anti frizz hair serum at home too when your hair is not only frizz-free but more manageable.

What's the best way to stop frizzy hair?

What Do You Need to Make an Anti Frizz Serum at Home?

Argan Oil

Loaded with antioxidants, vitamin E, and essential fatty acids argan oil is on the top of my list of natural hair care staples. Argan oil seals the hair cuticle and protects against elements such as humidity.

In addition to promoting strong and healthy hair growth and keeping hair healthy and shiny. And it’s especially beneficial for those of us that highlight or color our hair.

Essential Oils

Essential oils are a natural hair ingredient not to be overlooked! Because incorporating essential oils for hair care into your daily regimen can nourish your scalp, condition, and soften your hair.

For this homemade anti frizz serum I’ve included lavender essential oil and geranium essential oil. Lavender has been found to reduce breakage and hair loss (source), while geranium helps to balance oils. And together they give this hair serum recipe a sweet, floral scent.

Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil is basically a liquid wax. But, interestingly it is extremely lightweight and easily absorbed into the hair without weighing it down. Like argan oil, jojoba is high in essential fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamins that help protect hair, preventing dryness, breakage, and split ends.

A winning combination leaving your hair healthy, moisturized, and frizz-free!
