How Do You Make Tablets At Home To Color Bath Water Naturally?

After creating this bath soak recipe that turns bath water into the dreamiest shade of blue, I knew just what to use to color bath water naturally.

These color-changing bath tablets get their unique color from butterfly pea flowers. I discovered this flower last year, beginning my study of floriography,  The Love Language of Flowers

Butterfly pea (Clitoria ternatea) is an herbal flower that blooms in a vibrant indigo-blue. As I shared in my tutorial for creating forget-me-not candle melts, blue is one of the rarest colors in nature.

What’s More butterfly pea flower has an incredibly unique ability to change color!

When introduced to hot water its pH alters the color from a deep blue to purple and pink fuchsia, ending in a bath of gorgeous Persian blue water.

It’s this transformation that gives meaning to butterfly pea flowers in floriography. Representing rebirth and the potential to change, hence the name butterfly pea flower.

For this bath tablet recipe, I used both pure blue pea flower powder and organic blue butterfly pea flowers. The powder gives the bath tablets a natural blue color and tucked inside each tablet is a hidden pea flower.
