I began my journey into natural living 10 years ago, when my husband and I still newlyweds, adopted a puppy. This was quite a big step for us and when we brought her home I began to worry about all the harsh chemicals I was using to clean would hurt her.
After a little research, I discovered they were hurting all three of us. It turns out the ingredients of average household cleaners have been linked to asthma, cancer, reproductive disorders, hormone disruption, and neurotoxicity. (source)
Fast forward 8 years later and we were expecting a baby girl. I went through our home with a fine-toothed comb looking for anything that might harm her. Thinking about our little baby taking her 1st bath pushed me to look closer at all the bath and body products I was using.
What was I putting on my skin? According to EWG’s Skin Deep Database subtle damage to developing bodies may lead to disease later in life. And pound for pound, children are exposed to more contaminants in air, water, food, and personal care products than adults. Immature organ systems are often less capable of fending off chemical assaults.
Nothing more than diving right into making my own natural bath and body products with essential oils. Since then I’ve been making everything from face wash to kitchen cleaners. Not only do we save money by not purchasing all those products at the store, but we also live in a chemical free home. And that is quite possibly one of the best gifts I can ever give my family.
That all depends on what you want to learn and/or use essential oils for.
According to the Environmental Working Groups consumer guides, the FDA’s regulations on essential oils are less than impressive.
In fact, companies can label their essential oils with pretty much anything and everything that they want, regardless of what’s actually in the bottle! Companies can call their oils “pure” and still add synthetics and fillers.
With hundreds of essential oils available including unique essential oils blends like the popular Stress Away blend and essentials oil products for the home – it can be overwhelming!
Unfortunately, this causes a lot of us to feel stressed and unsure of where to start with essential oils.
Luckily, Young Living recognized this need and put together a carefully curated kit to help anyone get started! For this reason, it’s called the Premium Starter Kit.
And it’s hands down the simplest way to start using essential oils!!
